The New Vampire team

team concept by Chet Zeshonski, Modified by Douglas Webber

Vampires are a potent, individualistic lot. Most live in the shadows of humanity. Some, however, flaunt their powers in mortal man's face. These vampires tend to be artists, or politicians... or bloodbowl players. :)

Background

*Bloodlust

A vampire who possesses this skill must roll a d6 before being set up for a kickoff. On a 1 or 2 his lust for blood overwhelms him and he pops into the crowd to bite the lily-white neck of an attractive maiden(and who can blame him?) and can't be used this drive.

Additionally, if the vampire kills another non-undead player(who is not healed or shoved into the crowd) he will immediately drag the victim off the pitch to the solitude of the dugout where he can feed, thus missing the rest of the drive(place him in the reserves box). If the victim has regeneration, he can still make a roll to recover as normal.

Vampire Ability

Each vampire with VA gets an ability as determined by the table below. This roll is made -after- the player is purchased(you almost never know -what- you're getting into by hiring a vampire). Roll d6: 1 Foul Appearance
2 Hypnotic Gaze
3 Razor Sharp Fangs
4 Toughness(spikes)
5 Celerity(very long legs)
6 Coach's choice!!!

Progression and Skill Selections:

Vampires progress at the normal rate. They may select skills from general and agility categories. On doubles a vampire may also: 1. Get rid of Bloodlust(If he has it)
2. Select a Vampire ability from the table above.
3. Select a passing skill

Vampire coaches and coaching staff

A Vampire coach is a Prince. An old... very old... vampire. He counts as the team's wizard(just as the necromancer counts as the undead's wizard). As long as the Prince is in the game(i.e. not injured or thrown out), he can do two things:

Bleeding Thralls

If any vampire of the Prince's fails his Bloodlust roll, the Methusalah can bleed a thrall to stave off the vampire's hunger. Take a healthy thrall and remove him from the reserves box(he'll be back next game) and one vampire(who has failed his BL roll) can set up as normal. Ghouls may not be bled this way. Their blood is flat and tasteless.

A thrall can also be bled to give a vampire a second regeneration roll. Immediately after the first roll as failed, take a healthy thrall from the reserves box(he'll be back next game) and make another regen roll(at only 5+ this time) to see if the vampire recovers. This can only be done once per failed regen roll.

Embracing the Fallen

If any vampire of the Prince's kills a living(i.e. non-undead/non-ghoul) player, the Prince can embrace the dead player and he becomes a lesser vampire on the Prince's team. To do this the Prince must have an open lesser vampire slot(of course). The embraced loses any skills he/she had, but keeps any physical abilities, stat changes and niggling injuries and also gains +1ST, regen, and Bloodlust. A Prince can only Embrace once per game.

Apothecary

Vampire teams can hire an apothecary, but only thralls are able to be treated by them. Vampires and ghouls, due to their supernatural and corrupt state, cannot ever feel the healing hand of an apothecary. Note: apothecaries cannot heal thralls that have been bled.

Allies

Vampire teams may not hire Allies. The Thralls and Ghouls are basically the non-penalized "Allies" of these teams.
