The Khemrian Undead Team by Andy Welton


From the deserts of Khemri rise the mighty forces of Undead. Fallen Kings of the land now rule from beyond the grave. The same for Blood Bowl Coaches, they also coach from beyond the grave. Some former teams from Khemri also live on, the necromatic magic coursing through their vein.. um.. er.. bodies.

One such team, The Khemri Krushers once ruled the southern division. During the off-season their team bus was lost in a huge desert storm. It was then revealed that the owner had arranged the bus schedule to coincide with the storm. He then stole the entire team treasury and disappeared. The team failed to 'resurface' for many decades, until now. Recently, a team of explorers found the ill-fated bus under one of the largest dunes in Khemri. Suprisingly enough, the team was still alive, ..well as alive as an undead team can be. Under the leadership of Kain, a great liche, the Krushers have returned to field of Blood Bowl.

SKILL PICKS: All the skill picks are the same as normal undead.

WIGHT LORDS: The Wight Lords are former chaos warrior or knightly champions. They are heavily armoured and are much more stronger than the normal wight. Skill picks: General, and Strength.

HEAD COACH: The Khemrian team does not have a necromancer, instead they employ the use of a liche. The liche does not have the same powers though. The liche may not raise dead bodies and create zombies like a necromancer could. But since the liche more familiar with undead than the necromancer, he is undead, he can cast regeneration at a better rate. If you are using the white dwarf suggested rule 4+ regeneration on league play, the Khemrian liche may regenerate the team on a 3+.

APOTHECARY: none.

TEAM WIZARD: While a normal undead team employs the necromancer as its team's wizard, the Liche is the Khemrian team's wizard. Even though he cannot raise zombies, he can be upgraded with a spell scroll. For 150,000 the team may purchase a spell scroll that allows the liche to use the spell 'Wind Of Death' once per game.

WIND OF DEATH:The spell may only be cast on the Khemrians team turn. The wind of death is a spell that remains in play, until it goes out of bounds, or until the next kick off (ie ball exploded, td scored, half ending, etc..). When the spell is cast the liche chooses a sideline where the template shall go. The caster then chooses a direction, rolls 2D6 and adds them together. The coach can only choose one of the directions on the direction chart below. The number rolled on the 2d6 is the number of squares that the spell moves in that direction. If the template comes into contact with any player, the player must roll under or equal to his agility or fall over (if the player has a 1 agility roll he automatically fails). Make an armor roll at a -1 modifier. After the initial movement, the wind is left on the field, it then moves randomly D6 squares (ie use a d8 chart and a d6) each player turn until the next kick off or goes out of bounds. The template is moved before any players are moved, if a player is knocked down by the wind, the team whos turn it is will not suffer a turnover. Count the player as getting knocked down last turn (ie: he can spend 3 MV to get up).
EXAMPLE PLAY SEQUENCE:
Undead Team 3: Spell is cast
Template Turn: Template is moved randomly.
Human Team 3: Team moves as normal.
Template Turn: Template is moved randomly.
Undead Turn 4: Team moves as normal.
ETC...
Note any player (friend or foe) that comes in contact with the template will suffer its effects.
To make the right size template for the Wind of Death, take a normal Blood Bowl player circular base and trace it onto a piece of paper. Cut it out and paint or color it, windy!!!
