Minotaur

Credits for the Minotaur team go out to:
Jervis Johnson for the team from the Compendium I and the Wild Animal and Always Hungry rules
Tom Anders for Angus Porterhouse, Goremore Brokenhorn, the Minotaur stadium rules, and the Shaman War Mage.

#PositionCostMASTAG AVSkillsTraitsSkills Available
0-16 Minotaur 110,000 5 5 2 8 Mighty BlowFrenzy, Horns, Thick Skull, Throw Teammate, Wild Animal, Bonehead, Always Hungry General, Strength, Physical

Rerolls:
100,000

Big Guys:
In the MBBL2, if a team is composed of only Big Guy players, the Big Guy players on the team may still use Team Rerolls.

Team Notes:
The Minotaurs on an all Minotaur team are a hair away from psychotic. Roll for Bonehead before doing anything with the player, a failure means that he's standing there completely unable to decide who to hit next. Success means that you then deal with the Wild Animal characteristic.

Advance:
Physical: On doubles, a minotaur may take any skill from the Physical skills list.

Allies:
Click here to see the standard ally rules for this league.

Special Notes:
Because of the cost of Minotaurs, a starting Minotaur team needs to only have eight players (instead of 11). In addition, the Minotaur team may never field more than 8 players on the pitch.

Apothecary:
Standard rules

On Pitch Spellcasters:
The starting spell for a Minotaur spellcaster is Zen for Animals.
Successful Result: For the rest of the half, a targeted player with Wild Animal may play as if he did not have this trait (but he may be moved before other players with Wild Animal without causing an Illegal Procedure call.)
Failure Result: The player enters such a blood rage for the rest of the half that this player must be moved first (even before other Wild Animals). If there is any adjacent player from either team, this player MUST throw a frenzied block at them. If there are no adjacent players, he MUST use the team's Blitz move to Blitz the nearest player from either team. This will result in a turnover, if the player fails to actually Blitz anyone. If this player is prone, he will jump up and blitz the closest player from either team.
Range: Any player on the pitch with Wild Animal
Succeeds on: 3+

Secret Weapons:
The Minotaur team will not use secret weapons.

------------------------------------------------------- This ends the MBBL2 League rules for this team ----------------------------------------------

Racial Wizard: (Note: the MBBL does not use Racial Wizards.)
Minotaur teams have a Shaman War Mage for 150,000. Shaman War Mages can cast one of two spells during a game interrupting an oppenent's turn if needed.
Enrage: One Minotaur player gains Block, Break Tackle, Sprint, and Frenzy and loses Wild Animal and Always Hungry until the end of the drive. At the end of the drive, the opposing coach makes an injury roll with a +1 modifier for that Minotaur.
Smite: Pick one of your players on the pitch (this player may not be an Import from Adam Morgan's Bottom of the Barrel rules.) The opposing coach rolls a D6 for the selected player from your team. On a 1=the player is Badly Hurt, 2=Seriously Injuried, 3 or more=the player is Dead! (No Apothecary or Special Play cards may be used to heal this injury caused to your player by this spell.) Then you may roll for injuries with a -2 modifier (no armour roll, modified injury rolls of 0 or 1 have no effect, the -2 modifier applies only to the injury roll not the specific injury roll) for a random D6 plus 2 players on the pitch from the opposing team. (The opposing team may use Team Apothecaries or Personal Apothecaries to heal the injuries from this spell.)

Stadium rules:
Roll a D6 at halftime, On a 6, a truckload of slighty drugged raw meat is delivered by the fans to the locker room ... players eating enough of this treat will be more calm and focused but still quick. D3 random Minotaurs will play the 2nd half without Wild Animal but may still be moved before other players with Wild Animal without causing an Illegal Procedure call.

2nd edition Star Player notes:
Most of the 2nd edition star players were converted to 3rd edition rules in the Blood Bowl Compendium I. However, Bellow Thunderslam was not converted. I have converted those stats to the best of my ability. To help you understand the conversion, the 2nd edition stats for the Minotaur team and Star Players is listed below. Here is the key to the stats (MA=Movement Allowance (same as 3rd edition), SP=Sprint Allowance (Number of squares player can Go For It), ST=Strength (same as 3rd edition), AG=Agility (Same as 3rd edition), TS=Throwing Skill (used to determine pass completion and accuracy), CL=Cool (ability to stay calm, used mostly to catch the ball), AV=Armour Value (same as 3rd edition)):

Suggested minatures:
The best minotaurs to use as base players are Games Workshop Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Minotaurs with the weapons removed. To add variety, some of the older RAFM minotaur work well also. To make Goremore Brokenhorn, just cut the horns and weapons off of a Games Workshop Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Minotuar Lord. If you do not want to waste the horns, you can use them to create Scraps (a star player for the Golem team.)
